Move signals continued commitment to “silver rights” for west coast

(LOS ANGELES) December 17, 2009 - Financial literacy nonprofit Operation HOPE (HOPE), announced today that Tom Swanson, Wells Fargo regional manager, has been appointed Chair of Operation HOPE’s Southwestern Board. In his new position, Mr. Swanson will help solidify HOPE’s commitment to “silver rights” in Southern California and its surrounding areas.

“I am very pleased that Operation HOPE will have the continued dedicated leadership it needs with Tom Swanson taking the helm of the Southwestern Board,” said Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO, John Hope Bryant. “Making our free market system work for the benefit of all Americans is our greatest mission. I'm excited to have his continued support in making our movement become a reality."

In his ten years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Mr. Swanson’s region funded in excess of $55 billion in loans. His focus and dedication to the community has resulted in Wells Fargo Home Mortgage raising and contributing over $1 million to nonprofits.
