Hyatt Regency Atlanta Partners with Operation HOPE on Employee Financial Empowerment

HOPE Inside Hyatt Regency Atlanta brings free financial education and counseling to hotel employees

ATLANTA – Apr. 7, 2016 – Hyatt Regency Atlanta, in collaboration with financial empowerment nonprofit Operation HOPE, Inc., is now offering free financial literacy workshops and confidential financial counseling to its employees.

Leaders from both organizations launched the initiative with a two-day programming kickoff at the downtown hotel. Over 150 employees attended the sessions and about half of all participants signed up for additional off-site financial consultations.

“We are pleased to provide our associates with access to  financial tools and training to help transform their lives,” said Hyatt Global Diversity Executive Vice President Tyrone Stoudemire. “Financial wellbeing plays a major part in overall wellness so this opportunity is essential.”

Operation HOPE coaches will conduct the workshops on site at Hyatt during employee “Snack & Learn” sessions through the end of the year. Workshop topics target budget and savings, credit management, and home buyer coaching. Interested employee participants can also register for one-on-one sessions with Operation HOPE counselors at existing metro Atlanta HOPE Inside locations—HOPE Inside Ebenezer, at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Hope Inside SunTrust on Luckie Street, and HOPE Inside BB&T on Gresham Road.

“Personal money problems stress and distract employees on the job, and employers are now making the business case for financial wellness programs to address everything from absenteeism to garnishments and retirement plan loans,” said Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer John Hope Bryant. “We commend the leadership at Hyatt for taking this step to contribute to employee financial wellness and are honored to partner with them to empower their employees.”

The Hope Inside at Hyatt Regency Atlanta is the first installation of a new hybrid version of the successful HOPE Inside model that traditionally sets up offices in bank branches, government offices and other community locations to provide free financial literacy and small business education and empowerment programs to individuals.
