Operation HOPE Welcomes Louis E. Negrón as President of the Atlanta Market Region
ATLANTA – July 2, 2015 – Louis E. Negrón joins Operation HOPE as the new President, Atlanta Market Region, the financial empowerment nonprofit announced today. Under the direction of William “Bill” Walbrecher, HOPE president and chief operating officer, Negrón will expand programs and help advance opportunities for underserved communities throughout Atlanta.
Mr. Negrón’s passion for community and heart for service, makes him an exciting new member for Operation HOPE. The organization is confident that under his leadership, it will be able to provide more financial empowerment services to more residents in the Atlanta market region.
Negrón, an accomplished leader who is well-respected in the Atlanta community, has spent years helping under-represented students and the Hispanic/Latino community achieve success. He formally served as the Senior Director of Education for United Way of Greater Atlanta (UWGA). He led several initiatives for the UWGA, from the national cradle to career Ready by 21 initiatives to the Aspen Institute initiative on Opportunity Youth.
"My mission is to serve our community as a servant leader and to empower, uplift and enlighten their dreams and aspirations through HOPE," says Negrón.
Most recently, Negrón served as principle owner and founder of Negrón Education Services, an organization that provides strategic and consultation on first generation students and families to colleges and universities in the United States of America and Territories, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and in Europe.
He is also the recipient of multiple awards throughout his career, last year some of his honors included: The Showcase Group for Facing Forward Awardee; Who’s Who Black Atlanta and Excellence in Academia an Honoree.
Operation HOPE’s Atlanta market is the site of the HOPE Global Forum Annual Meeting and the organization’s Regional Flagship office. Since 2006, the market has improved the financial literacy and economic standing of more than 105,000 adults and children.
Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Los Angeles, Operation HOPE is rated a 4-star charity by Charity Navigator. A global nonprofit focused on financial dignity, HOPE has empowered more than 2.5 million individuals and directed more than $1.8 billion in private capital to America’s low-wealth communities. Currently, HOPE is focused on Project 5117, a multi-year initiative that will track and increase business role models for youth, boost credit scores for adults, and empower underserved communities.
