HOPE Celebrates 23 Years of Growing Key Government Partnerships
LOS ANGELES -- May 27, 2015 -- In 2014 Operation HOPE entered into a historic outreach alliance with U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a federal agency created under the President Obama Administration, www.consumerfinance.gov.
Established by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, the CFPB is a 21st century agency that helps consumers by making rules more effective, consistently and fairly enforcing those rules and empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives. Through the Memorandum of Understanding, both organizations share resources to educate consumers.
HOPE encourages its participating members to utilize CFPB publication. Nationwide, through our 700 Credit Score Initiative credit management seminars and case management services we provide HOPE clients with CFPB Resources on consumer credit, identity theft, remittances, student loans, financial literacy and savings.
Over our 23 years, Operation HOPE created sustainable federal partnerships with the over twenty federal agencies, which include: The White House through the creation of three advisory councils: The President's Advisory Council On Financial Literacy (PACFL), the President's Advisory Council On Financial Capability (PACFC), and the President's Advisory Council On Financial Capability For Young Americans (PACFCYA).
