Operation HOPE Selects Clare Woodcraft-Scott CEO of Emirates Foundation to Serve on Newly Restructured International Advisory Board

LOS ANGELES – March 27, 2014 – Financial empowerment nonprofit Operation HOPE announced today the addition of Clare Woodcraft-Scott Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Foundation, to its International Advisory Board of Directors. 

As one of HOPE’s newest Ambassadors, Woodcraft-Scott will lend her time, talent and treasure to help advance HOPE’s financial dignity initiatives. Her business acumen and dedication to the community make her a powerful addition to the newly restructured board, which now oversees all projects and initiatives outside of U.S. borders.

The HOPE International Advisory Board is comprised of international representatives from corporations and financial institutions, community leaders and government officials from countries outside of the U.S. Working in an advisory capacity, its main purpose is to facilitate relationships and aid in the expansion of HOPE programs abroad.   

As the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Foundation, the national foundation of the UAE, Woodcraft-Scott is responsible for driving its vision of supporting youth development in the country. In her role as CEO she oversaw the transition of the Foundation from a traditional grant-making entity into one focused on guiding, inspiring and empowering young people.

Woodcraft-Scott brings over 20 years of experience working in the field of sustainable socio-economic development in the Middle East and Africa as a development practitioner, a journalist and a corporate executive specializing in youth, sustainability and social investment. The Emirates Foundation was established in April 2005 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. It is an independent philanthropic organization set up by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is guided by creation and inspiration, hard work and commitment.  The Emirates Foundation focuses on three guiding principles – Sustainability, Collaboration, and Impact. These outline the path of advancement and success by providing the necessary framework to correct and to learn.

These individuals play an essential role in driving Project 5117, HOPE’s Silver Rights Movement and next phase to expand economic opportunity, and making capitalism and free enterprise accessible in underserved communities.
