LOS ANGELES – February 12, 2014 – Financial dignity leader Operation HOPE announced today the appointment of Philippe Bourguignon the Vice Chairman of Revolution Places and CEO of Denver-based destination club Exclusive Resorts to its Global Board of Directors. As Bourguignon joins HOPE’s elite group of international decision-makers, Exclusive Resorts commits $20,000 to support the Denver 2020 initiative for the empowerment of local youth.

“We are pleased to have Mr. Bourguignon join the HOPE Global Board of Directors,” said Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO John Hope Bryant. “His business acumen and wide range of experience makes him an ideal board member. His leadership roles as the former co-chief executive officer of the World Economic Forum, CEO of Euro Disney, Chairman and CEO of Club Med, and service on the boards of eBay and Zipcar, will facilitate HOPE’s ability to build relationships and generate support for our programs and activities around the globe. He is a tremendous addition to our board.”

With Exclusive Resorts, HOPE’s Denver 2020 initiative will receive funding to support two (2) HOPE Business In A Box Academies, a program created to help students connect education with aspiration. The program provides the opportunity and practical tools to nurture students’ entrepreneurial talents. It is also a part of Project 5117, HOPE’s aim to deliver economic empowerment to those in households earning under $50,000 annually. The impact of these interventions will be measured by the Gallup organization on an annual basis every fall.

Bourguignon served as Co-Chair of the Youth Economic Energy and Entrepreneurship Working Group during the 2013 HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit. There he made an impact as a dynamic leader and further developed his interest in youth initiatives.

Prior to joining Revolution Places, Mr. Bourguignon spent two years leading Davos-based World Economic Forum in 2003, 2004. Beginning in 1988, Philippe worked with Disney in several capacities, including executive vice president of Disney Europe, and chairman and CEO of Euro Disney. As chairman and CEO of Club Med, Philippe was widely credited for the comprehensive turnaround of the company in 2000. Previously Philippe spent 14 years with the Accor group, one of the largest hotel groups in the world. He initially served as vice president of Development for Asia/Middle East and executive vice president of North America. He was eventually promoted to president of Accor for the Asia/Pacific region.
