Popular Community Bank Region Executive, Brian Doran, Joins the National HOPE Inside Advisory Board
Financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE grows counsel to promote financial empowerment through HOPE Inside
LOS ANGELES – December 5, 2013 – Operation HOPE announced today that Brian Doran, the region executive (New York Metro) and director of governmental affairs for Popular Community Bank (Popular) will join the National HOPE Inside Advisory Board. Mr. Doran’s appointment to the advisory board will help strengthen HOPE’s “silver rights” mission to spread the financial literacy and empowerment.
The HOPE Inside National Advisory Board supports HOPE’s goal to establish 1,000 HOPE Inside locations in areas where people do business as a part of Project 5117. The project is a multi-year initiative that will track and increase business role models for youth, boost credit scores for adults, and empower underserved communities.
Mr. Doran’s responsibilities at Popular Community Bank include executive management and oversight of the Bank’s sales, marketing and operations in the New York Metropolitan area and monitoring and participating in federal and state legislative and regulatory matters impacting the financial institutions industry. He is also a member of Popular’s Senior Management Team and is Secretary of the Popular Community Bank Foundation.
Mr. Doran serves on Operation Hope’s Northeast Region Board of Directors and is also a member of the Financial Services Roundtable’s Housing Policy Executive Council. He also serves as a Director of the Staten Island (NY) Center for Independent Living, a resource, education and counseling center for persons with disabilities, and is a director of the Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation and several related entities, which provide low-cost senior housing in New York City.
