SBA and FDIC to Sign Memorandum of Understanding with Operation HOPE at Global Financial Dignity Reception in Atlanta
ATLANTA – November 12, 2013 – This week, at the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit in Atlanta, GA, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – a significant contribution to Operation HOPE’s efforts to advance the conversation about financial dignity and literacy.
The SBA and FDIC each will a sign a MOU at the Global Financial Dignity Reception on Wednesday, November 13. The SBA MOU is designed to spur economic development through small business growth, and to improve entrepreneurial education that advances greater access to capital, expanded technical assistance and access to programs that promote wealth and self-sufficiency. The FDIC MOU is designed to facilitate an influx of much needed capital into communities.
“We are extremely grateful to these two organizations for their support of ‘silver rights’,” said founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE John Hope Bryant. “The SBA works to promote entrepreneurship and self reliance and the FDIC will help bring necessary resources to local communities – all of which we know are critical components to financial dignity.”
In partnership with the City of Atlanta, the two-day summit, “Global Economic Recovery: How The Poor Can Help Save Capitalism,” will be moderated by Soledad O’Brien and frame the issue of financial inclusion, small business, entrepreneurship, jobs, and financial dignity as essential core ingredients to mid and long-term economic recovery and stability. It is expected to draw 1,000 of the most dynamic and influential financial industry professionals, government decision-makers and faith leaders from more than 30 countries around the world.
Those not able to attend the Summit in person are encouraged to participate via live stream provided by Kaplan University by logging on at https://kapx.kaplan.com/operation-hope/.
