HOPE Coalition America Recognizes Importance of CoreLogic Partnership in Providing Disaster Recovery Services to Sandy Survivors
Operation HOPE and Core Logic have partnered together on a number of other projects over their long-term relationship
LOS ANGELES – October 24, 2013 – HOPE Coalition America (HCA), Operation HOPE’s (HOPE) disaster financial recovery and preparedness division, is commemorating their year-long partnership with CoreLogic in support of victims of Hurricane Sandy along U.S. East Coast. CoreLogic’s relationship with Operation HOPE dates back over 10 years in total.
Hurricane Sandy also known as Superstorm Sandy swept through the eastern seaboard almost one year ago today, October 24, 2012. In its aftermath, Sandy affected 24 states, including the entire eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine and west across the Appalachian Mountains to Michigan and Wisconsin, with some of the most severe damage in New York and New Jersey. Total damage in the United States was estimated to add up to about $65 billion.
Operation HOPE and CoreLogic has operated the disaster recovery call center since Hurricane Katrina. Through the call center individuals, individuals and small businesses have received critical financial information and support, a component of any disaster relief effort that is often overlooked and undervalued. It is estimated that approximately more than 26,000 people accessed and benefited from these services provided in response to Sandy over the last year.
“Sandy was one of the most devastating storms ever to make landfall in the United States,” said Fred Smith, president of HCA. “Through our partnership with CoreLogic, we were able to substantially reduce the financial recovery of those effected by the devastating storm. We are humbled by the support we’ve received from CoreLogic on these critical Sandy relief efforts and we are deeply grateful for the long-term partnership we’ve maintained with this strategy-driven company over the years.”
For more than 10 years, CoreLogic has been involved in some of the most notable HOPE programs such as, Banking on Our Future, HOPE’s award-winning youth financial literacy program that offers celebrity, classroom, and college editions, as well as international curriculums, with dozens of CoreLogic employees donating countless hours of their time to teach in classrooms. In 2012, CoreLogic joined the Founder’s Circle in support of the Gallup-HOPE Index, a national initiative to study the economic energy of American youth.
In response to the support of Operation HOPE offered by CoreLogic, John Hope Bryant, founder, chairman and CEO of Operation HOPE, commented, “CoreLogic has been one of our most committed supporters through the years with volunteer, financial and in-kind donations.”
