David Boehmer, Heidrick & Struggles' Regional Managing Partner, Gains Seat on Operation HOPE Northeastern Board


New York based financial services executive to help bring empowerment to area
New York – April 04, 2013 – Financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE (HOPE) announced today that David Boehmer, Regional Managing Partner of the Americas for Heidrick & Struggles' Financial Services practice, has joined the organization’s Northeastern Board of Directors.  This appointment affirms Boehmer’s commitment to HOPE’s “silver rights” movement to bring financial literacy education, and economic empowerment for youth and adults living in under-served communities.
In his role as a board member, he will provide ongoing feedback and guidance to help promote program effectiveness throughout the region. Additionally, he will help generate and nurture support of elected officials, school administrators and community based organizations to help drive financial literacy initiatives and programs forward.
David’s portfolio of search and advisory work over the years has spanned senior front office and functional roles including CEO, CIO, COO and General Management positions across banking, asset management, hedge fund, capital markets, insurance and alternative investment clients.
Previously, David was the head of the Financial Services Infrastructure sector for the Americas, a practice made up of teams focused on the functional areas of financial services to include finance, risk, legal, compliance, technology, operations, audit, human resources and sales/marketing. He also continues to lead the Consumer and Commercial Finance sector, focused on institutions at the international, national, regional and community levels.
Prior to joining the firm in 2004, David was a Managing Associate with a generalist boutique executive search firm located in New York City. Before joining the boutique in 2001, David served with Egon Zehnder International where he was a member of the firm's Technology and Telecommunications Practice.
David received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University. He was named as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2012, and serves as the Chairman of the
Komera Project, a not-for-profit leadership incubator focused on supporting girl’s education in Eastern Africa. He also serves as a Big Brother in the Big Brother Big Sister’s organization.
