Atlanta, GA -- November 6, 2012 -- Ambassador Saburo Yuzawa will join the list of distinguished speakers for the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit on November 14-15 in Atlanta, GA, the financial literacy leader announced today. Yuzawa, who has a long, rich history both as a peace builder and a friend of Operation HOPE, will lead a Working Group Session during the two-day conference.
Ambassador Yuzawa has served as a bridge builder since the early 1990’s between blacks, whites and Asians, including mediation of a hostage crisis in Peru. He has helped to achieve peace in multiple cultural contexts and environments. Ambassador Yuzawa speaks English, Spanish, Japanese, and the international language of peace and diplomacy.
Yuzawa is Executive Managing Director at the Institute for International Trade and Investment in Tokyo, Japan - a position he has held since 2011. From 2007—2010, he was Senior Advisor to the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Egyptian Government for export promotion as well as Chief Advisor of the EEPC (Egyptian Export Promotion Center), a project of JICA ( Japan International Cooperation Agency). From 2006—2007, he served as Auditor of Japan Economic Foundation. In 1999—2003, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of El Salvador in Central America.
In 1963, he served as Chief Executive Director of JETRO in various countries as El Salvador, Brasil (Sao Paulo), Peru (Lima as Chief Executive Officer of actual Japan Bank for International Cooperation) and USA (Los Angeles). JETRO, the Japan External Trade Organization, is dedicated to promoting mutual trade & investment between Japan and the world. At JETRO, he helped in various capacities, including head-office Director of Americas’ Division, Director of Research Planning Division, Director General of Overseas Research Department, and Director General of Economic Information Department.

In recognition of the 20th year anniversary HOPE has been highlighting its Silver Rights Mission to educate and empower individuals and communities through financial literacy and financial dignity. The HGFDS is another example of how to move financial literacy and capability to the global agenda.
