" HOPE Casino Night!" Fundraiser to Benefit Operation HOPE and's angel Foundation

NAHREP and REO for Non-Profit to Host Awareness event set to award struggling family $25K and bring awareness to financial literacy and real estate issues

Los Angeles – In a collaborative effort of community support, Operation HOPE has joined with the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) and REO for Non-Profit to host the " HOPE Casino Night!" fundraiser on September 17. The event will bring awareness to financial literacy and issues that affect homeowners faced with foreclosure.

The casino-themed event, set to begin at 6pm at the ICON Ultra-Lounge, will kick-off the 2011 NAHREP Real Estate and Marketing Conference. All proceeds of the event will be donated to the angel foundation and Operation HOPE. Download the event flier here.

The evening’s activities will include the presentation of two $25,000 cash awards and financial literacy counseling to help save the homes of two struggling families in Los Angeles.  Bringing attention to issues that affect homeowners faced with foreclosure, Casino Night will raise funds through a Cigar Bar, live and silent auctions, event sponsorships and ticket sales.

“Our goal is not to just rescue homeowners.  We want to help them create a roadmap to successful, long-term debt management and homeownership. Our foreclosure prevention assistance is conducted at our HOPE Centers and through our Mortgage HOPE Crisis Hotline (MHCH) for at risk homeowners by offering financial assistance to become current on their mortgages,” said Kevin Fleming, Operation HOPE SVP, Director of Field Operations, Global Financial Literacy Initiatives.

Founded in 1999, with a goal of increasing Hispanic homeownership,NAHREP has become is the largest minority trade group in the real estate industry with 17,000 members.  Its core mission is to address issues that specifically involve the Hispanic homebuyer community, including the foreclosure crisis, which has severely affected the Hispanic and minority communities. Through advocacy, networking, leadership and business development opportunities NAHREP’s powerful voice is making a difference by addressing all aspects of homeownership for minorities, including increasing access to funding, and monitoring industry.

REO for Nonprofit is dedicated to using the power of its member network to address issues of concern in communities and assist nonprofit organizations and groups in order to help struggling homeowners.  Its mission is to serve as champions of homeownership for all members of the community in their goals to achieve the American Dream of obtaining and remaining in their homes.

The home program was launched by of the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas and was featured on the Oprah show in 2010.  The mission of the home program is to address the foreclosure crisis head on and to help individuals and families remain in their homes.

Operation HOPE seeks to expand economic opportunity in underserved communities through economic education and empowerment. Since 1992, Operation HOPE has been improving the economic quality of life for individuals, families and communities.
