Nuptials Inspire Thomas and Carol Ehrsam to Support Youth Financial Literacy
As Banking on Our Future creator, Mary L. Hagerty, weds Bradley Ehrsam
Los Angeles – August 10, 2011 – Amid nearly 100 guests, high atop a hill in Winter Park, Colorado, Operation HOPE First Senior Vice President and Global Chief of Financial Literacy, Mary L Hagerty exchanged wedding vows with popular design artist, Bradley Ehrsam, on June 26, 2011.
Inspired by Mary’s dedication to her work and marriage to their son, Thomas and Carol Ehrsam of Heartland, Wisconsin, gave HOPE an additional $5000 donation, to bring their total contribution to the financial literacy empowerment nonprofit to $7500. The funds will help educate more than 150 students in the New York area.
In 1996, Mrs. Hagerty Ehrsam began organizing volunteers to go into school classrooms to present students with role-models as well as give them valuable tips on how to establish good money management skills. Banking on Our Future has gone on to become one of HOPE’s most productive portfolios, and has empowered more than 600,000 youth. It has been the recipient of the U.S. Treasury Department's John Sherman Award for Financial Literacy Excellence and the Oprah's Angel Network’s Use Your Life Award.
“Operation HOPE salutes you for your continuous support and for championing our mission,” said John Hope Bryant, HOPE founder, chairman and chief executive officer in a thank you to the Ehrsam’s. “We appreciate your support and for joining with us to promote ‘silver rights’ and making free enterprise and capitalism work for the poor, working class and the middle class, as well as assisting and inspiring the next generation of global stakeholders.”
