Leading the Charge for Global Financial Literacy Empowerment and “Silver Rights” Operation HOPE Unveils New Website
Online home of HOPE seeks to be the definitive resource of financial literacy tools and
define the future of financial literacy as the new civil right
Los Angeles – April 28, 2011 – During National Financial Literacy month and launched on Wednesday April 27, 2011, Operation HOPE (HOPE) Founder, Chairman and CEO John Hope Bryant announced the debut of the organization’s revamped website. The newly designed and user-friendly site seeks to define the “future of financial literacy”, become the single best resource for economic empowerment and will to continue lead the charge, making the Silver Rights Movement a mainstream issue both in the U.S. and worldwide.
"Rarely is there a simple solution to the challenges we face – financial literacy empowerment can provide individuals with a sense of purpose, a sense of direction and a sense of control in their lives,” said Bryant who currently serves the Obama Administration on the U.S. President’s Council on Financial Capability. “In this global economic era, the single determining factor in defining our future is financially literacy. Those who understand the system can make it work for them. Our desire is to provide the population with the tools for success in this arena and this new website will help them do just that.”
The new website, found at www.operationhope.org, provides access to comprehensive financial literacy information, integrated social media components featuring the HOPE blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts, interactive schedule of regional and national HOPE events, and tracks programs and events taking place globally.
The official launch of the HOPE website is one of several activities the organization has organized around National Financial Literacy Month. Other events have included:
• Banking on Our Future sessions planned in over 15 cities reaching thousands of youth
• To Catch a Dollar screening events
• Special credit and money management workshops
• Entrepreneurial training classes and graduations
• Teaching children to save events
• Homeownership seminars
