New Partnership Created Between Operation HOPE and To Catch a Dollar Campaign

Joint venture to focus on the promotion of financial literacy and empowerment featuring the documentary film
To Catch a Dollar: Muhammad Yunus Banks on America

Los Angeles – March 29, 2011 – In line with their Silver Rights Movement to promote and empower through financial literacy, Operation HOPE, Inc., (HOPE) announced this week their unique partnership with the To Catch a Dollar campaign in conjunction with the release of the documentary film on March 31, 2011. The global financial literacy empowerment nonprofit will help promote the message of “To Catch a Dollar: Muhammad Yunus Banks on America” which focuses on Grameen America, a micro-finance non-governmental organization (NGO) started in Bangladesh and now operating in the U.S.

To heighten the partnership, HOPE will participate in a number of activities taking place this April during National Financial Literacy Month. HOPE will specifically focus on the weeks of April 10th and April 17th which will address the themes of  “The Unbanked of America” and “Savings and Financial Literacy in America”. HOPE will also host screenings of the film, which will include discussions afterwards centering on the importance of becoming financially empowered, informing communities and taking action.

Several screenings are being organized in HOPE markets across the country. The first confirmed screening will take place on April 18 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm hosted at Ebenezer Church in Atlanta. For more information visit

Launching officially on March 31, To Catch a Dollar will premiere in theatres nationwide. A special simulcast panel moderated by CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo, featuring Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, President Premal Shah and special guest, financial powerhouse Suze Orman will be broadcast after the film on opening night. The distinguished panel will explore poverty and financial literacy in America, and the role we all can play in making the American dream applicable to all citizens.
