Operation HOPE Express Sorrow on the Passing of South Africa Program Mananger Nkanyiso Mweli

On Saturday, October 31, Nkanyiso Mweli, one of our best and brightest succumbed to heart failure. Nkanyiso, whose name means “Bright” was a shining star for Operation HOPE and our global silver rights movement. His work to empower South Africa’s youth and women was unprecedented. In two years, Nkanyiso single-handedly educated more than 11,000 youth and women. No matter what challenge he faced, Nkanyiso always had a positive solution and we will miss him dearly as our work in South Africa continues. His legacy will live on through those whose lives he touched. -- John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE founder, chairman and chief executive officer.
