Operation HOPE, US Bank and the Oakland Raiders Make a Play for Financial Literacy
OAKLAND -- July 18, 2013 -- For the third year in a row, financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE (HOPE) and the Oakland Raiders are teaming up to sell discount tickets ranging from $45 - $60 to the six Oakland Raiders Home Games for the 2013 season. A portion of every ticket sold will benefit HOPE’s youth financial dignity empowerment program, Banking on Our Future.
Following the tradition of previous years, 150 Oakland School District students along with their parent or guardian will meet with executive members of the Oakland Raiders, U.S. Bank and Operation HOPE staff to celebrate Global Dignity Day on October 6th as part of HOPE’s effort to highlight the importance of dignity and self-respect.
Student participation in the game is sponsored by U.S. Bank, as a way to boost financial capability and instill good banking and savings habits among students.
Raiders fans and HOPE supporters are encouraged to act immediately; due to the newly renovated stadium, tickets are limited and expected to sell out quickly. Ticket sales will help support the three-part Banking on Our Future program series, which also includes school activities for four different schools.
