Noemi Almodovar is the Program Manager for the Banking on Our Future and HOPE Business In A Box Academies programs in Denver. Noemi joined Operation HOPE in 2013 as an Operation HOPE Fellow through the Fellows, Interns, and Loaned Executives (FILE) Program and now manages the day-to-day activities for all youth empowerment activities in Colorado. As part of her role, Noemi leads the local team of staff, fellows, and interns, builds working relationships with school districts to implement HOPE’s youth empowerment programs, represents the organization in the local nonprofit and business communities, and cultivates new relationships with local corporations, small businesses, financial institutions, and other organizations.
Born and raised in Denver, Noemi grew up in the Montbello neighborhood and earned her B.A. in International Studies from Colorado Christian University, where she led a student organization focused on bringing awareness to international human rights violations and environmental challenges. She has worked with various populations in the Denver Metro area, including the Latino and refugee/asylee communities, and now the youth that Operation HOPE Denver serves. As a second generation immigrant and child of entrepreneurs, Noemi has always valued an economic approach to poverty eradication and has enjoyed sharing these values with her younger community members through HOPE. She remains very involved in her community outside of HOPE through a number of community strengthening efforts—including working with pro-bono lawyers as a volunteer interpreter for Spanish-speaking unaccompanied minors and their families, as well as tutoring adults in ESL.
