Richard Busby joined Wells Fargo in June of 2006 as senior community development officer.
In this role, he is responsible for working with Wells Fargo leaders and team members in the Mid-South region to maintain an outstanding community development program. He is also responsible for meeting OCC compliance standards and identifies key community development partnerships across Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Richard has more than 20 years of experience in financial services in a variety of roles, including Market Operations Manager, Branch Manager and Business Banker.
Prior to his current position, Richard was the Community Development Lending Manager at SouthTrust Bank where he oversaw the company’s Community Reinvestment Act lending portfolio in Birmingham.
In 2012, Richard was chosen to be a part of the Wells Fargo African American Leaders Program at the University of California in Los Angeles.
And, in 2011, in the face of rising foreclosure and declining homeownership rates in Birmingham, he dedicated himself to educating families about effective solutions for their financial problems. Because of his efforts, he received the Business Leadership Award from NeighborWorks America in Washington, D.C.
Richard is very active in the community and serves on the boards of several organizations, including Alabama Association of Habitat Affiliates, The Salvation Army and the Greater Shiloh Baptist Community Development Corporation.
