Ray Johnson is Vice President – Community Investment in the United States for HSBC Bank, which comprises all of HSBC's U.S. businesses. HSBC Holdings plc (NYSE:HBC) is the parent company of the global HSBC Group, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations.
In his position, Ray is responsible for U.S. employee engagement and volunteerism, and corporate sustainability activities, which include the company’s global programs, focused on environmental and education strategic focus areas. Specifically, this includes Junior Achievement programs, HSBCs signature environmental program - The Water Programme and Future First, a global program focused on the care of at-risk youth.
Local program support includes the HSBC Scholars Program, HSBC executive board placements, and special events.
Ray has served in mentoring roles for young people as part of the Lake Forest Open Lands Association, and is a certified ‘YourMoneyCounts®’ instructor, which is HSBC’s financial education program.
In 2009, Ray received HSBC’s Diversity Ambassador Award and in 2010, the CEO Award.
Ray resides in Long Island City, New York, after recently moving from Oak Park, Illinois, a Chicago suburb where he served as an elected official on the Village of Oak Park Board of Trustees.
