Lisa Masko Amoss

HOPE New Orleans Board Member: May 2014 - December 2015

Between 1975 and 2012, Lisa Amoss was a consultant to both nonprofit and for-profit businesses.  She specialized in strategic planning and organizational development.   She has worked with a wide variety of boards of directors of nonprofits in many different areas.

From 1987 until 1997 she was a partner in P.J.’s Coffee and Tea, Inc. where she was responsible for franchise development.  From 1998 until 2001 she was Director of Consulting Services for the Center for Nonprofit Resources, where she managed consultants in providing board development, strategic planning, organizational assessment, fund development and consultation on human resources, financial management, accounting and legal services to the over 4200 nonprofit organizations in the greater New Orleans area. 

In addition Ms. Amoss is a member of the adjunct faculties at Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and the University of New Orleans.  Since 1978 she has taught organizational behavior, management and entrepreneurship courses in graduate, undergraduate and executive programs at Tulane, where she currently teaches in masters degree programs in public health, health systems management and environmental health and safety.  At UNO, she has taught the “Overview of the Nonprofit Sector” and “Collaboration” courses in the Master of Public Administration program in Nonprofit Leadership.

Ms. Amoss has an MBA from Tulane's Freeman School of Business and an A.B. in psychology from Vassar College.  She is currently president of the board of directors of Broad Community Connections, the Broad Street Main Street organization.  She has been a member of the boards of directors of the YWCA, the Southeast Louisiana Girl Scout Council, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Regional Loan Corporation, Education First, and the American Society for Training and Development, New Orleans chapter.  She has been elected to Outstanding Young Women in America and was selected as an Achiever by the American Council for Career Women and a Role Model by the YWCA.
