Stories of HOPE - Rashid Rashad

Mr. Rashid Rashad was a born entrepreneur, serving as the program director at A Titus Man, Inc. alongside his brother and Founder, Scott Chatman. Additionally, Rashid is the author a number of books, including Who I beThe Power of Family Unity, and The Blueprint to Manhood, the principle on which A Titus Man, Inc. is based. Above all, Rashid is a loving husband and a father to ten children and lives by the motto of “family first.”

At A Titus Man, they believe that “it is always better to give, and in your giving, you will receive,” which is why they jumped at the chance to join forces with Operation HOPE in 2011 after being introduced to Tara Dennis, Operation HOPE’s District Manager, Southeast Region. Together with Suntrust Bank, A Titus Man, Inc. and Operation HOPE hosted an event in October of 2012 at the HOPE Inside at Ebenezer. There, they helped approximately 30 young males ages 8 to 18 to open their first checking accounts, providing each with an initial investment in the form of a $5 deposit, to which many added their own money.

Rashid’s desire to contribute to his community is constistently reinforced by the student's bright smiles as they leave the Banking on Our Future classroom on the “pathway to successful lives." After one of his sessions at Pine Ridge Elementary School, Rashid remembers one of the students approaching him to thank him for his friendly nature and the financial lessons he learned from the session.

Rashid and A Titus Man, Inc. have demonstrated a continued commitment towards their community in Georgia, not only through their collaboration with Operation HOPE, but also in their own work. Operation HOPE thanks Rashid for all the work he is doing to help transform his communities into financial literate and dignified individuals.
