Operation HOPE Partners with Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. Omicron Omega Chapter for 3rd Annual Financial Empowerment Conference

Operation HOPE partners with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Omicron Omega Chapter for their 3rd annual Financial Empowerment Conference "Investing In Your Future" on Saturday, August 15th, from 8:30am-12:30pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama.

"Having good credit is the foundation to investing in ones financial future. Unfortunately, many people simply do not know how to establish good credit or even what good credit looks like. I will discuss how to establish, fix, improve and protect the 3-digit number that shape one's foundation and financial future". Damian J. Carson,  small business program manager for Operation HOPE.

Topics will include: Financial Well-Being, Credit, Investing in Real Estate, Building Wealth and Small Business Development.  Also, participants can sign-up for onsite credit guidance.  

Tammy Fincher, President of CEAF, Inc. explains, “Our goal is to impact individuals and families by equipping them with the knowledge and skills for life-long financial prosperity."

Presenters and Community partners include Well Fargo, Trinity Baptist Church, Trinity Development Center, Leah Wiggins Agency of Farmers Insurance, National Coalition of 100 Black Women - Bham Metro Chapter, Birmingham Urban League Young Professionals, Miles College and Alpha Phi Chapter - Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Habitat for Humanity-Greater Birmingham and Operation HOPE.  

The Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has served the Birmingham community since 1924.  The chapter through its charitable arm, CEAF, Inc., educates citizens, donates thousands of dollars yearly to programs in underserved communities,  provides college scholarships to deserving students and provides educational enrichment. This is the third year of the Financial Empowerment Conference.


This public event for young adults and anyone interested in on-site credit counseling, Information about home ownership, investment property, business/finance careers, and building wealth.  Free breakfast.  Pre-Registration is HIGHLY recommended By August 10, 2015.
