East West Bank & Operation HOPE at Roosevelt Elementary School

On May 28, 2015, East West Bank and Operation HOPE collaborated once again to wrap up another successful academic school year of teaching financial literacy in the community. East West Bank teacher volunteers taught over 135 students at Roosevelt Elementary in Pasadena, California.

Principal Juan Ruelas invited East West Bank and Operation HOPE back again to his school after a great experience last year with the East West Bank team; he was very thankful and appreciative for this community outreach program.

Under the leadership of East West Bank’s Dorothy Chan, Vice President, Manager of Community Development, and Sam Kim, CRA Analyst, they recruited 10 of their colleagues to teach students in 3rd - 5th grade about services and products banks offer and the importance of saving and budgeting.

“I truly value the partnership and relationship I have with Dorothy and Sam and have to commend them on their commitment to community service through financial literacy empowerment” - James Chen, Program Manager, Operation HOPE.

Thank you East West Bank teacher volunteers:
