Stockpile Partners with Operation HOPE to Cultivate Next Generation of Investors

New partnership aims to educate young people about the importance of investing early in life.

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Nov. 16, 2017 - Stockpile, a brokerage that is pioneering fractional share stock investing, announced today its partnership with Operation HOPE to teach young people the importance of saving and investing early in life.

“The missions of Operation HOPE and Stockpile are very closely aligned, and we’re excited to work together to bring financial literacy and opportunity to people who have never had access to the stock market, a key engine of growing wealth in America,” said Stockpile CEO and founder Avi Lele.

As part of the new partnership, Stockpile and Operation HOPE will leverage Stockpile’s easy investing tools and wealth of educational materials to empower young investors to start investing for their future.

“True power in this world comes from economic independence, so it is essential that we collectively transform our mindsets around money—credit, budgeting, saving, and investing,” Operation HOPE founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, John Hope Bryant said. “We are pleased to partner with Stockpile to empower more people, including our youth, to be actively involved in taking action towards a secure future through investment knowledge and access.”

Stockpile makes it easy for anyone to save and invest in the stock market starting with small amounts of money so they can learn as they go.  Even kids and teens can own stock through Stockpile’s custodial accounts.  Stockpile customers can download the iPhone or Android app or visit stockpile.com to open a free account for themselves or anyone in their family.  They can buy individual stocks or ETFs at 99 cents a trade with no monthly fees, set up an automatic investment plan, track their investments, learn about stock investing through free mini-lessons, or help others get started by purchasing e-gifts or plastic gift cards redeemable for stock.

“Most Americans have never had access to the market because it’s been too expensive and difficult to get started,” said Lele.  “We’re changing that in a big way, helping people get started early so their investments have plenty of time to grow.”

About Operation HOPE

Since 1992, Operation HOPE has been moving America from civil rights to "silver rights" with the mission of making free enterprise and capitalism work for the underserved—disrupting poverty for millions of low- and moderate-income families across the nation. Through our community uplift model, HOPE Inside, which received the 2016 Innovator of the Year recognition by American Banker magazine, Operation HOPE has served more than 2.8 million individuals and directed more than $2.7 billion in economic activity into disenfranchised communities—turning check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, minimum wage workers into living wage consumers, and uncertain disaster victims into financially empowered disaster survivors. Project 5117 is our multi-year four-pronged approach to combating economic inequality that aims to improve financial literacy, increase business role models and business internships for youth in underserved communities, and stabilize the American dream by boosting FICO scores. Operation HOPE recently received its third consecutive 4-star charity rating for fiscal management and commitment to transparency and accountability by the prestigious non-profit evaluator, Charity Navigator. For more information: www.OperationHOPE.org.
