HOPE Global Forums | Annual Meeting Set to Return to Atlanta in 2017

North America’s  largest gathering of leaders around poverty and reshaping the global economy will reconvene in Atlanta next spring. Delegates will engage in critical dialogue with leaders who believe in the power of ideas to foster real change, and the need to elevate underserved communities.

ATLANTA – July 12, 2016 – The next HOPE Global Forums | Annual Meeting, a key initiative of global financial dignity and economic empowerment nonprofit, Operation HOPE, Inc., will be held in Atlanta, April 10-12, 2017. The three-day event is now the banner gathering of global thought leaders and influencers around financial inclusion.

"In a short period of time, our annual meeting has become THE place to be for those committed to the cause of expanding opportunities for underserved communities," said Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer John Hope Bryant. "Next year, we will extend our focus on mapping out a plan for inclusive economics - integrating ideas from finance, philanthropy, entertainment, government and beyond to develop a blueprint that can be activated for every community in every corner of the globe."

The 2016 event, held in Atlanta last January, featured over 300 speakers, with 48 hours of programming, and was broadcast and livestreamed around the world. Previous guest speakers include, President Bill Clinton, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, HUD Secretary Julián Castro, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, and Vice President Al Gore.

The HOPE Global Forums are a community of events designed to galvanize leadership around towards building an economy that works for everyone. This is accomplished through a series of carefully curated thought leadership events, digital engagement, research, writings and public policy.

Through its core programs, the nonprofit has provided financial dignity and economic empowerment to over 2.6 million individuals worldwide, and $2 billion in economic activity for the disenfranchised—turning check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners and minimum wage workers into living wage consumers.  Project 5117 is HOPE’s multi-year four-pronged approach to combating economic inequality that aims to improve financial literacy, increase business role models and business internships for youth, and stabilize the American dream by boosting credit scores. Operation HOPE recently received its second consecutive 4-star charity rating for fiscal management and commitment to transparency and accountability by the prestigious non-profit evaluator, Charity Navigator—further establishing it as a best-in-class organization.
