U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Plays Key Role at the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit in Atlanta, November 14-15th
Atlanta – November 1, 2012 – Nestled in the birthplace of the civil rights movement and bolstered by event keynote U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, some 1,000 delegates will gather to discuss and develop solutions for helping America and the world to begin the process of identifying viable long-term, systemic and sustainable solutions to economic problems during the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit (HGFDS) in Atlanta, November 14-15, 2012 “silver rights” nonprofit Operation HOPE announced today.
HOPE welcomes Bernanke for the second time as a key note speakers in the organization’s global summit series. In June 17, 2009, Bernanke headlined HOPE’s first Global Financial Literacy Summit in the community of Anacostia in Washington, D.C.
Ben S. Bernanke was sworn in as Chairman and a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on February 1, 2006. Dr. Bernanke also serves as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System’s principal monetary policymaking body. He was appointed as a member of the Board for a full 14-year term, which expires January 31, 2020, and to a four-year term as Chairman, which expires January 31, 2010.
Before his appointment as Chairman, Dr. Bernanke was Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, from June 2005 to January 2006. Dr. Bernanke has already served the Federal Reserve System in several roles.
Under the theme of the Community, Character and (Responsible) Capitalism, the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit will frame the issue of financial dignity, financial literacy, possibly for the first time, not as a soft and ancillary economic tool, nor as an option, but as an essential, core ingredient to mid-to-long-term economic recovery and stability.
The HGFDS is the culmination of 20th Anniversary celebrations for the financial dignity nonprofit. To learn how you can participate in the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit, check here, or join the conversation online at our online mini-summit, Talking Dignity.
