SEDCO Capital CEO Hasan Al Jabri Joins the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit as a Principal Speaker

Atlanta, GA – August 29, 2013– Operation HOPE announced today that  SEDCO Capital’s Chief Executive Officer Hasan Al Jabri will help drive the international dialogue around empowerment and financial inclusion as a principal speaker on the main stage for the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit, November 13th – 14th, 2013 in Atlanta. 

The two-day summit, “Global Economic Recovery: How The Poor Can Help Save Capitalism,” is expected to draw 1,000 of the most dynamic and influential financial industry professionals, government decision-makers and faith leaders from more than 50 countries around the world to frame the issue of financial inclusion, small business, entrepreneurship, jobs, and financial dignity as essential core ingredients to mid and long-term economic recovery and stability. 

During last year’s summit Al Jabri joined other financial leaders for a plenary session on free enterprise, capitalism and emerging markets.

Hasan Al Jabri has over 26 years of banking experience in the region managing senior positions in prime banks including The National Commercial Bank & Samba Financial Group. He also sat on the board and executive committees of several investment & commercial banks as well as companies in IT, Real Estate, Services and others. He currently sits on the following boards: Member of the Board of Directors, Roots Group Arabia Company (Saudi Arabia) Member of the Board of Directors, Dar Al Tamleek (Saudi Arabia) Member of the Board of Directors, SEDCO Capital (Saudi Arabia) Chairman of Al Ibdaa Bank (Micro Finance Bank in Syria) Hasan Al Jabri’s previous responsibilities included NCBC Board member, Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking and Chairman of the Funds Board, Country Head for the Corporate Banking Group with direct responsibility over the Corporate Bank, Corporate Finance, Structured Finance, Syndications, Placements and Cash Management. Al Jabri chaired the Young Presidents Organization’s Saudi Chapter and is a founding committee member of Gulf SOL. He is a BSC graduate of the American University of Beirut and an Executive Management Program graduate of Columbia University.

In 2012, SEDCO partnered with Operation HOPE to create a program that teaches students the financial management skills necessary to achieve and maintain a dignified life. Last year, targeting college students SEDCO, launched Riyali, a program created to educate the Saudi population on financial literacy and empower people with the personal financial skills required to achieve a desirable standard of living.

Since 1992, Operation HOPE has promoted financial dignity through financial literacy and education tools to underserved communities. Through its four core portfolios, the organization has provided youth and adult financial literacy, economic preparedness, digital empowerment, promoted home ownership, and assisted with foreclosure prevention to more than 2 million individuals, families, and small business owners.
