HOPE Founder and Global Summit Co-Chair John Hope Bryant Shares Involvement around Conference Closing Session

Atlanta – November 9, 2012 – Operation HOPE Founder, Chairman and CEO John Hope Bryant announced today that participation for activities around the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit have exceeded expectations resulting in closed registration for at least two events in the conference series.  The “silver rights” leader will provide opening and closing remarks for the 2012 HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit (GFDS), November 14-15. The event will be streamed live for the general public.

“We’re closing out the two-day conference with a global message about financial dignity and a movement towards making free enterprise and capitalism work for the poor, a continuation of the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said Bryant.  “This week, we confirmed orator and author Dr. Bernice A. King, Diana Tsui, who heads the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Diversity Department at KPMG, China and is also Chief Executive Officer of the KPMG Foundation, and Hip Hop Entrepreneur Russell Simmons for our already remarkable closing plenary session at next week’s Summit. We’re committed to treating our delegates in Atlanta to two days of non-stop networking and collaboration, working together to identify solutions and partnerships focused on strengthening America and her citizens.”

Bryant, who’s known as a philanthropic entrepreneur, thought leader and businessman, is one of the leading voices on poverty eradication today. As founder of financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE, Bryant has advised the last four sitting U.S. Presidents on economic justice issues, and has been recognized by the last five U.S. Presidents. 

He currently serves as Chair of the Subcommittee on the Under-served and Community Empowerment for the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability. Prior to that, Bryant served U.S. President George W. Bush as vice chairman of the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, and Chairman of the Council Committee on the Under-served.

Bryant also served on the Global Agenda Council for the World Economic Forum as an advisor on financial literacy. He is member of the founding class of the Young Global Leaders for the World Economic Forum and a founding member of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).

A charismatic leader, renown public speaker and writer, Bryant is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. With the publishing of Love Leadership: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-based World, (Jossey-Bass), Bryant became one of the top 25-bestselling-business authors in the country and the only African-American bestselling business author in America.

Bryant has received over 500 awards and citations for his advocacy work, including Oprah Winfrey’s Use Your Life Award. He was named a “Community Hero” by People Magazine on the 10th anniversary of the King Riots, and recognized in TIME Magazine 50 (Leaders) for the “America’s 50 Most Promising Leaders of the Future” cover story in 1994.

In business, Bryant is CEO of Bryant Group Company, and serves on the corporate board for Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation; a publicly traded company and a division of $54 billion private equity firm Ares Capital Management.

John Hope Bryant was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
