Arlen Gelbard is the former Chief Administrative Officer of E*TRADE Financial. He played a dual role at E*TRADE FINANCIAL, overseeing the Company's administrative and risk functions - including internal audit, human resources, compliance, security and facilities - when he served as President of E*TRADE Bank, where he managed the Company's deposit and lending products.
Mr. Gelbard previously served as Chief Banking Officer, as well as Business Leader, Vice President and General Manager of E*TRADE Bank. Prior to joining the Company in January 2000, Mr. Gelbard held the position of general counsel of Telebank and Telebanc Financial Corporation. He was also a partner of the law firm Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross, LLP, in New York City, where he spent 16 years specializing in commercial and corporate law, transactional real estate, lending, foreclosures and workouts. Mr. Gelbard currently serves as a board member of Operation HOPE. He holds an AB in politics from Brandeis University, and both a JD and an MBA from Boston University.
