Alabama Board Member Since: October 2013

Art Faulkner was appointed on January 18, 2011, by Governor Robert Bentley to serve as the director of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.

With nearly 22 years of experience in state and local government, Faulkner has served as Director of the Alabama Department of Homeland Security, State 9-1-1 Coordinator, Elmore County 9-1-1 Director/Assistant EMA Director, and police chief of the Coosada, Alabama, Police Department.

Since his appointment he has provided leadership for AEMA’s response to two major disasters in Alabama including the devastating tornadoes of April 2011.

Director Faulkner and his wife Shana, reside in Elmore, Alabama.
