Otis Watson is recognized in financial business circles as a strategically oriented corporate and non-profit community affairs executive with strong technical experience in sales, management, operations, and finance. An often sought after mentor and business public speaker, he is proficient in project management, community reinvestment development, and the administration of charitable contributions. He is an adept problem-solver with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Since 2001, Otis Watson has served as the Northern California CRA Market Manager for Comerica Bank-Western Market. Previously, Otis served as Vice President of Corporate Community Development for Union Bank of California. He has also worked previously worked for Fremont Bank, Citibank, Wells Fargo Bank, and Crocker National Bank. He has nearly thirty years experience in banking and financial services. In the non-profit field, he has worked as Director of Public Relations and Development for the Alliance for Community Care, a mental health non-profit, in San Jose, California.
Otis is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School, at the University of Washington, in Seattle, and has a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from Western State University College of Law in San Diego, California, (now known as Thomas Jefferson College of Law). He has two undergraduate degrees from the University of California- San Diego, in La Jolla California. He attended and graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco, California (where he served as Senior Class President).
Currently, Otis is a member of the Board of Director’s of the University of California, San Diego, Alumni Association. In addition, he serves as a member of the University’s Diversity Council. He has served as Chairman of the Community Development Committee for the National 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Board Member of the Bay Area Black United Fund, and President of Bay Area Urban Bankers Association (now known as the Urban Financial Services Coalition of the Bay Area). From 2001 to 2008, Otis served as a Board Member with Opportunity Fund Northern California (formally known as Lenders for Community Development). He also serves on the Loan Committee for the Northern California Small Business Financial Development Corporation. He is currently married to Linda Walker-Watson.
